According to SKA Hockey Club official website Andrei Nazarov has been relieved of his duties as head coach. Andrei's assistant, Igor Kalyanin, has also departed the club. SKA Saint Petersburg would like to thank both men for the work they performed with the team, and the club wishes them good luck in their future careers.

Sergei Zubov has been appointed interim head coach, with Alexei Yarushkin as his assistant.

SKA president Gennady Timchenko spoke of the changes: “In hiring Andrei Nazarov, we knew that it would be a new challenge for him and for the club. It is far from easy to take charge of a team that is reigning champion and lead it to new victories. Unfortunately, due to SKA's results in the first half of the KHL regular season, we cannot continue our partnership, but we are grateful to Andrei and Igor for their work in Saint Petersburg.”
