To mark the end of the tenth week’s play of the tenth season of the Championship, The Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.
– Best goaltender was Nikita Bespalov (Spartak), who posted a perfect goalie's week, saving 100% of shots on his goal and thereby helping the Muscovites secure two shutout wins in two games. The 29-year-old Russian has now kept all opposition off the scoreboard for 174 minutes 26 seconds (119:34 during Week 10 alone), which is the third longest shutout series of the season so far;
– Best defenseman was Vojtech Mozik (Vityaz). The 24-year-old Czech only celebrated victory once in his three outings but he was nonetheless unsurpassed among defensemen over the last seven days, for which his account shows 11 shots at goal, 4 (2+2) points and a +3;
– Best forward was Matthew Frattin (Barys), the 29-year-old Canadian appeared in three matches and ended the week with 8 shots, an efficiency rating of +2, an average ice time exceeding 22 minutes, and most important of all, a personal tally of 4 goals – the highest total of any forward in the League;
– Best rookie, for a fifth time already this season was 18-year-old Jokerit forward Eeli Tolvanen. The Helsinki team this week managed only one victory in its three outings, yet the teenage sensation fired off 15 shots, scored two goals, and averaged more than 16 minutes on the ice.
