With three seconds remaining in the second period of Friday's match in Magnitogorsk between Metallurg and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, home team forward Denis Kazionov, having just received a minor penalty (2 minutes) for hooking, was given a game misconduct penalty (20 minutes) for unsporting and abusive behavior by a player toward a match official.

After reviewing the incident, the KHL Disciplinary Committee upheld the referee's decision, and has punished Denis Kazionov with a fine and a five-game suspension.

Also on Friday, in the 48th minute of the match in Togliatti between Lada and Dynamo Moscow, visiting forward Vladimir Bryukvin received a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for boarding. The Committee reviewed this episode, and once again, supported the referee's decision, and ruled that Vladimir Bryukvin must pay a fine and serve a one-game suspension.
