In the 40th minute of Saturday's match in Nizhny Novgorod between Torpedo and HC Sochi, home team defenseman Stepan Zakharchuk was sent to the locker room for boarding and injuring an opponent.

The KHL Disciplinary Committee has reviewed the incident and has upheld the referee's decision. Consequently, the major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) remains in force, and the player has been fined and suspended for two games.

Moreover, as this was not the player's first 5+20-minute penalty of the current season, he incurs a separate fine and an automatic two-game ban for repeat offending. As a result, Stepan Zakharchuk has been disqualified for four games in total.
