To mark the end of the third round of the 2017-18 season playoffs, the Eastern and Western Conference finals, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the round in four categories.
– Best goaltender was Lars Johansson (CSKA), who celebrated victory in two of his three appearances in the series against SKA, The 30-year-old Swede spent 161 minutes 42 seconds between the pipes, saving 100% of shots on his goal, and his personal shutout series now stretches to 198 minutes 32 seconds;
– Best defenseman was Vasily Tokranov (Ak Bars), who played in three of the Kazan Men's games in the series against Traktor, celebrating victory after all three. The 28-year-old Russian D-man's personal figures for the final included 3 (1+2) points and a +2 (the best stats of any defenseman in the finals) and his goal secured victory for his team;
– Best forward was Mikhail Grigorenko (CSKA). The 23-year-old Russian played in all six games of the series against the reigning champions, for which his account shows 6 (4+2) points, a +4 (both figures unmatched by any other skater in the finals) 13 shots, an average 19 minutes 44 seconds of ice time, and a series-winning double in Game 6;
– Best rookie was Traktor forward Vitaly Kravtsov, who was also the winner of this accolade for the quarters and semis, as well as winning the Rookie of the Month title for March. The 18-year-old appeared in all four games of the Western Conference final, contributed 3 shots, 3 hits, averaged 13 minutes 26 seconds on the ice and earned his team three powerplays.
