The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best player of the first month of the Regular Season in four categories.
- Best goalie was Jakub Kovar (Avtomobilist), who played 10 out of 12 games for his team, winning them all. He had three shutouts, one of them being during an away game. The Czech goalie posted a save percentage of 96.03 and a goals-against average of 1,19. His shutout streak – still alive – is at 142 minutes and 58 seconds.
- Best defenseman was Darren Dietz (Barys), who had 12 (4+8) points in 11 games in September. He won six games with his team and scored game-winners against Neftekhimik and Dinamo Riga, ending the month with a +9 rating. The Canadian defenseman had 39 shots on goal, recorded 21 hits and blocked 12 shots (best result among defensemen).
- Best forward was Anatoly Golyshev (Avtomobilist), who won with his team all the 12 games played in September, with 11 (8+3) goals and finishing the month with a +6 rating. The Avtomobilist forward scored a double in the away game against Sibir and scored game-winners against Dinamo Riga, Slovan, Admiral, and Traktor (best overall result of the month). Six of his eight goals were scored on even strength. He also had 28 shots on goal and 19 hits.
- Best rookie was forward Nikita Mikhailov (Sibir), who had five goals and one assist in 13 games. On average, the 20-year-old forward played 12 minutes and 25 seconds, with 13 shots on goal and 4 opposition shots blocked.
